Almost Famous: A Battle of the Bands - October 6th, Le National
This spring, the Human Promise will be hosting Almost Famous, a battle of the bands for High School and CEGEP students featuring impressive local talent - and amazing prizes!
Participating bands will be judged, and the best will be rewarded. All, however, will have an incredible time on stage and opportunity to meet and share their music with respected members of the music industry. These include a panel of professional musicians as judges as well as a professional host – and, of course, a 600-person crowd of cheering fans!
Students will submit audition videos through to The Human Promise, and all accepted bands will be awarded participation prizes. The three winning bands (1st, 2nd and 3rd place) will also win larger prizes corresponding to their accomplishment.
All proceeds will be donated to KANPE, a Montreal-based organization dedicated to breaking the poverty cycle in rural Haiti, village by village, family by family. The internationally recognized band Arcade Fire represents Kanpe and will be matching any donation made to this organization.
If you're in a High School or CEGEP band and you would like to participate, send an email to concert@humanpromise.com and send us your audition video to our YouTube channel with 30 sec of introduction telling us about your band, and 3-4 min of performance.
AUDITION SUBMISSION DEADLINE: AUGUST 29TH
We look forward to seeing your talent!

Soccer for Peace - Date to be announced
We are excited to repeat this very successful fundraiser. This year, funds raised will be used to support Play31, an organization utilizing the unifying power of football to bring together people who have been torn apart by armed conflict in Sierra Leone. By facilitating community gatherings and donating footballs, Play31 contributes to the creation of peaceful societies where children can exercise their right to play. Play31’s vision is a world where all children are free to play, as stipulated in Article 31 of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.
